Welcome to the PCU web page!

In general, the PCU is committed to helping students in whatever philosophy-related endeavors we can.  Students new and old are welcome to come visit our booth at the UTSU Clubs Day, at Hart House Circle on September 7th, 10:00-2:00 to find out more, or to just hang out.  Also, make sure you sign up for our listserv.  There will be sign-up sheets at Clubs Day, but you can also email us at pcu.utoronto@gmail.com.  Finally, we have a Facebook page that you can ‘like’ to receive information about events as it comes out.  The URL is: www.facebook.com/PCU.UT.

Please refer to our Events section in order to find out what we’re planning next. Here are two notable events that you’ll not want to miss:

  • World Philosophy Day: 3:15-5:00 pm, November 17th, 2011.  This event has a few components.  The first is a talk by our guest speaker, Martin Lin (Rutgers), which is tailored specifically for undergraduates.  The second is a reception following the talk.  Come out to hear an interesting talk, mingle with professors, support your fellow students, and have some nice refreshments
  • Symposium on Love: 5:00-8:00 pm, February 9, 2012.  At our biggest event of the year, come hear talks by three professors about Love and its relation to the practice of polygamy.  Recent past highlights include a rendition of an ancient Greek play (in English, of course) and a rap by a prof; this time around, however, who knows what’s in store for us.

Yours in eternal contemplation,

The PCU Exec
